Background The Big Five Personality (BFP) model is an established dimensional framework, whereas the Quantum-8-Personality (Q8P) model is an emerging culturally grounded framework derived from Chinese philosophical traditions. This study explored dimension-level relationships between the two frameworks. Methods Network analysis was conducted using data from 1,052 Chinese adults who completed the Quantum-8-Personality Scale (Q8PS) and Big Five Inventory-2 (BFI-2). Results The largest cross-framework connections involved Q8P Contradiction and BFP neuroticism, Q8P Extraversion and BFP extraversion, and Q8P Yanggang and BFP conscientiousness. These associations were small to moderate in magnitude. Conclusion The findings identify preliminary areas of correspondence between the Q8P and BFP dimensions but do not establish equivalence, convergent validity, or incremental validity of the Q8PS. The results should be interpreted as exploratory because the factorial validity of the Q8PS remains provisional.

Character education is an important foundation for preparing preservice teachers. However, the internalization of moral values does not necessarily entail the ability to make ethical decisions in professional practice. This article aims to synthesize the conceptual relationships among character education, moral development, professional identity, and professional ethics among preservice teachers and formulate a framework for strengthening teacher education. The study employed an integrative literature review involving targeted searches for major theoretical works and scholarly articles on character education, moral reasoning, teachers’ professional ethics, and preservice teacher education. The literature was analyzed thematically by comparing theoretical foundations, research contexts, findings, and pedagogical implications. The synthesis indicates that the transition from personal character to professional ethics is a nonlinear process integrating five mechanisms: recognition of values and moral sensitivity, role modeling, reasoning through ethical dilemmas, guided reflection during field placements, and an institutional culture consistent with ethical values. The synthesis also identifies a gap between ethical knowledge and the ability to apply moral concepts explicitly when considering conflicts between values. These findings underscore the need for ethics education that connects an understanding of norms with reasoning practice and reflection on professional experiences. This article proposes a Character–Professional Ethics Transition Model linking value internalization, moral reasoning, professional identity formation, and accountable ethical action. In practical terms, the framework may guide the integration of learning based on ethical dilemmas, reflection on field placements, and the strengthening of institutional culture into preservice teacher education. The proposed model requires empirical testing, particularly through longitudinal research in Indonesian teacher education contexts.
Creativity is widely considered to be a core competency for learners and graduates in rapidly changing environments; personality research has identified two dispositions as relevant to creativity repeatedly: openness to experience (OE) and tolerance of ambiguity (TOA). This narrative review examined how OE, TOA and creativity are related (with particular attention to university undergraduates). The review clarifies the three constructs and their measures, summarizes evidence for OE–creativity, TOA–creativity and OE–TOA associations, compares theoretical accounts linking them together and proposes an integrative model in which TOA may explain how openness translates into creative thinking and achievement. Evidence for an OE–creativity link is substantial and comparatively consistent. Evidence for a TOA–creativity link is positive but less strong, relies heavily on self-report, and is concentrated in a small number of research groups. Formal tests of TOA as a mediator were not found. The review closes with methodological recommendations and a research agenda for undergraduate samples, including cross-cultural and longitudinal designs, and with implications for educators who wish to foster creativity as a student strength.
In volleyball, as in other sports, special attention should be paid to the individual characteristics of the athlete. However, this is often neglected. Most problems arise when the selection criteria for a role are not a player’s personal qualities, but rather their technical and tactical skills (tallness, a strong dominant arm, etc.). Here, it’s not just the player’s skills that matter, but also how they present themselves as a person. Many personal qualities are determined by a person’s genetic code, which cannot be changed. The nervous system, temperament, and character play a crucial role in success in volleyball. Athletes’ activities during volleyball are subject to many specific characteristics inherent to the game. The fast pace, the variety and unexpectedness of game situations, the interaction with teammates, the intermittent pace, and other characteristics place mental demands on volleyball players that are markedly different from those placed on, for example, a gymnast during gymnastics exercises. A volleyball player must be able to quickly and accurately navigate changing conditions, instantly switch from one situation to another, and be prepared for any actions by teammates and opponents. The time constraints of fast-paced play place high demands on reaction time and decision-making. Two main types of neuropsychological resilience can be distinguished: players with an unstable nervous system and those with an inert nervous system. In the former case, a player may involuntarily change their mental state before an important game, sometimes becoming calm, sometimes excited. It is important to properly prepare such volleyball players. High-intensity and prolonged training before the game will help them focus and distract themselves from external stress. An athlete with this type of nervous system should focus on the technique and precision of the elements they perform. In the case of an inert nervous system, training should be focused on mental work. Before the game, a volleyball player should begin psychological preparation, which will consist of positive and negative mental stimulation based on the athlete’s personal experience. When working during training or warm-ups, it’s important to emphasize the athlete’s potential dangers.
ABSTRACT The Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program provides learning experiences that require students to adapt, learn from experience, and develop innovative ideas. Individual differences in personality may be associated with variations in these abilities, making further investigation of personality dimensions necessary. This study aimed to analyze the role of the five Big Five personality dimensions in predicting learning agility and innovative behavior among MBKM participants. A quantitative approach with a cross-sectional correlational design was employed, involving 303 students who were currently participating in or had previously participated in MBKM activities. Participants were selected using a non-probability sampling technique. Data were collected through self-report questionnaires and analyzed using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and multivariate regression with Mplus 8.4. The results indicated that openness to experience was the strongest positive predictor of innovative behavior (β = 0.422; p < 0.001) and learning agility (β = 0.361; p < 0.001). Conscientiousness and extraversion were also positively associated with both outcomes. In contrast, agreeableness was negatively associated with innovative behavior (β = −0.116; p = 0.016) but was not significantly associated with learning agility. Neuroticism showed no significant association with either outcome. These findings highlight the relevance of personality characteristics in understanding variations in student competencies and support the development of adaptive MBKM mentoring programs without using personality profiles as the sole basis for student selection.
This study develops an approach to predict personality traits based on the Big Five model through essay text by combining global and contextual information using a Vocabulary Graph Convolutional Network (VGCN) and Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (BERT). VGCN is used to capture global relationships between words through a vocabulary graph representation built based on NPMI weights, while BERT plays a role in producing richer and more contextual text representations. Experimental results show that the integration of structural and contextual features can provide good performance in multi-label classification tasks. Based on the grid search process and 5-fold cross-validation, the best model configuration obtained a macro F1 score of 0.6827 and a weighted F1 score of 0.6829 in out-of-fold prediction. The evaluation results for each feature show that the recall value is close to 1.0, while the precision value ranges from 0.50 to 0.56. This condition indicates a tendency for the model to produce more positive predictions. Furthermore, the results of the study highlight the importance of optimizing the prediction threshold value to obtain a more optimal compromise between precision and recall. Overall, the integration of graph-based semantic information with contextual representations from BERT shows that the VGCN-BERT approach has good potential for application in multi-label personality classification
