Introduction: The Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) enumerates a broad, heterogeneous set of rights and requires their monitoring. The Human Rights-Based Well-Being Checklist (HRWC) is a 39-item instrument aligned with the CRPD; it covers this heterogeneous content, and no subscales were defined at its development.Using exploratory network analysis, we examined the response structure of the HRWC to clarify its descriptive interpretation and to assess whether empirically detected item communities were sufficiently stable to justify subscale construction or item removal. The focal case was a set of eight items that are reverse-keyed in the scoring scheme and framed in terms of adverse rightsrelated experiences (Items 1-4, 12, 14, 17, and 18).This set was defined by the scoring scheme independently of the network results; the decision to focus on it was post hoc. Methods: This secondary analysis used registry data from adults with disabilities in Muntinlupa, Philippines (N = 1,014).The HRWC is a self-report instrument whose items describe day-to-day situations corresponding to CRPD rights; each item is scored 0-4, giving a possible total of 0-156.Regularized partial-correlation networks, in which each edge represents the association between two items after accounting for all the other items, were estimated under two parallel specifications: rank-based Spearman correlations, which use only the rank order of the responses, and polychoric correlations, which treat each response as a coarsened observation of an underlying continuous variable.Item communities, that is, groups of items more densely interconnected with one another than with the rest of the network, were detected with the Walktrap algorithm, and their reproducibility was examined in 1,000 bootstrap resamples per specification. Results: Under Spearman estimation, the eight items formed one community containing no other items (27 of 28 possible within-set edges positive and nonzero; one absent), were retained across algorithms, regularization settings, and the nonparanormal network, and were reproduced in 885 of the 1,000 resamples (88.5%).Under polychoric estimation, the Walktrap point estimate divided the eight items along a shared stem (Items 1-4 versus 12, 14, 17, 18), although three alternative detection algorithms recovered that single community; the same eight-item-only community recurred under Walktrap in 333 of the 1,000 resamples (33.3%).Whether the eight items formed one community or two subgroups, thus, varied with the correlation method, the detection algorithm, and the resample. Conclusions: Item-level profiles and the existing unweighted total serve different descriptive functions.Item-level profiles preserve information on the distinct CRPD-related conditions represented by individual items, whereas the unweighted total can provide a concise summary across all 39 responses.Substantive content could not be separated from keying, shared stems, item position, or response distributions, and the findings provide no empirical support from these analyses for constructing subscales or removing items on the basis of the observed network communities.

Awareness of Youth-Friendly Sexual and Reproductive Health Services among Undergraduate Students at Saint Augustine University of Tanzania, Mwanza, Tanzania: A Cross-Sectional Study

Frank Deus Samson; Paskas Wagana; Johnson Mavole International journal of social sciences and humanities review, 2026

Background: Awareness of youth-friendly sexual and reproductive health services (YFSRHS) is an important starting point for enabling young people to identify and seek appropriate sexual and reproductive health information and care. However, awareness of these services may vary across settings, including higher education institutions. Objective: To determine the level of awareness of YFSRHS among undergraduate students at Saint Augustine University of Tanzania (SAUT), Malimbe Campus. Methods: A quantitative descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted among undergraduate students at SAUT Malimbe Campus. Data were collected using a structured, self-administered questionnaire. Of 109 questionnaires distributed, 108 completed questionnaires were included in the analysis. Descriptive statistics were used to summarize students’ awareness and reported sources of information. Results: Of the 108 respondents, 96 (88.9%) reported having heard of YFSRHS, while 12 (11.1%) had not. Social media was the most frequently reported source of information (44.0%), followed by friends or peers (41.0%) and health facilities (36.0%). University programmes and posters or advertisements were reported less frequently. Conclusion: Most respondents had heard of YFSRHS, with social media and peer networks serving as prominent information channels. Strengthening accurate information through these channels, alongside university-based communication, may help address the awareness gap among students who remain unreached.

The purpose of this research is to analyze the economic self-management strategies used by students of the Faculty of Business Sciences of the Technical University of Machala during their academic training; Interest in this study arose from the need to understand how students face economic difficulties that arise in their training. A mixed approach was applied and a survey was used on a representative sample of 367 students, identifying the main source of income for a part of the student population, evidencing alternatives to sustain their expenses and reduce their economic dependence. The most used strategies were observed when they go through difficult situations and if the income is sufficient to cover their expenses, reflecting the existence of limitations and conditioning the way of organizing their resources and decision making. Likewise, it was identified that students usually perceive an impact. in their academic performance. The results allowed us to understand the economic dynamics experienced by university students and provide information for the design of institutional strategies that contribute to strengthening permanence, well-being and academic success.

The Seen Anxiety: Psychotherapists' Classification of Text‐Described Observable Anxiety Markers Across Three‐ and Five‐Level Rating Formats

Yuval Geiger; Amir Avrahamy; Gideon Emanuel Anholt Counselling and Psychotherapy Research, 2026, Vol. 26, Issue 4 https://doi.org/10.1002/capr.70240

ABSTRACT Introduction Anxiety is central to the psychotherapy process, yet psychotherapists routinely infer a client's anxiety intensity from observable behaviour rather than from formal measurement, with no widely accepted framework to organise which observable markers indicate which levels of anxiety. This exploratory study examined how therapists make such classifications. Method Ninety‐one mental health professionals were randomly assigned to classify 41 text‐described behavioural and physiological markers using either a 5‐level or a simplified 3‐level category system, both derived from an integrated model of state anxiety in psychotherapy. Results Response distributions departed significantly from uniformity for nearly all markers in both formats, and the rank ordering of markers by intensity was highly consistent across formats, suggesting that therapists may share broad intuitions about relative marker intensity. Which markers elicited agreement, however, was far less reproducible, depending substantially on the response format. Convergence also depended on where the agreement criterion was set, declining from 90.2% to 51.2% of markers in the 3‐level format and from 63.4% to 22.0% in the 5‐level format as the criterion rose from > 0.50 to > 0.70. The 3‐level format yielded more classifiable markers at every criterion, although this advantage was not consistent across indices, whereas the 5‐level format elicited fewer ‘Insufficient to Determine’ responses. Markers placed at the highest intensity levels were classified most consistently. Discussion These findings offer preliminary groundwork for research on marker operationalisation, contextualised rating tasks and the development of training materials for psychotherapy process research.

Mediating Role of Loneliness in the Relationship Between Physical Activity Enjoyment and Mental Well-Being in Athletes

Emrah Seçer; Hasan Kuleli; Anıl Türkeli; Fatih Kaya International Journal of Disabilities Sports & Health Sciences, 2026, Vol. 9, Issue 4, pp. 251-265 https://doi.org/10.33438/ijdshs.1974940

Although physical activity enjoyment is associated with athletes’ psychological outcomes, the mechanisms underlying its relationship with mental well-being remain unclear. This study examined the mediating role of loneliness among athletes. A correlational survey design was employed. The participants consisted of 350 athletes selected through criterion sampling, including 178 females (Mage= 20.58 ± 1.99) and 172 males (Mage= 21.91 ± 4.88). Data were collected using the Physical Activity Enjoyment Scale, UCLA Loneliness Scale–Short Form, and Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Well-Being Scale. Pearson correlation analysis and PROCESS Macro Model 4 mediation analysis were conducted, and indirect effects were tested using 5,000 bootstrap samples. Physical activity enjoyment was positively associated with mental well-being (r= .586, p< .01) and negatively associated with loneliness (a= −.196, p< .01). Loneliness was negatively associated with mental well-being (b= −.447, p< .01). The mediation analysis revealed a significant indirect effect of physical activity enjoyment on mental well-being through loneliness (indirect effect= .088, 95% CI [.026, .147]). These findings indicate that enjoyment of physical activity contributes to athletes’ mental well-being and that loneliness partially explains this relationship. The results emphasize the importance of considering social connectedness and psychological experiences in understanding athletes’ well-being.

AI Companionship and Psychological Well-Being Among Gen Z Adults: A Cross-Sectional Correlational Study

Dhruti Gajiwala International Journal of Science and Research (IJSR), 2026, Vol. 15, Issue 10, pp. 2068-2070 https://doi.org/10.21275/sr261029233607

This study examined the relationship between AI companionship- operationalized as attachment anxiety and avoidance toward AI- and psychological well-being among 50 Gen Z adults (aged 18-29) in India. Using the Experiences in Human-AI Relationships Scale (EHARS) and the WHO-5 Well-Being Index, the study found no significant associations between attachment to AI and well-being. These findings, though limited by sample size and design constraints, contribute to the growing literature on human-AI relationships in non-Western contexts.
