چکیده
With the increasing use of psychedelics in both clinical and non-clinical contexts, there is growing potential for harm arising from challenging experiences and post-psychedelic difficulties. This qualitative review aimed to explore psychedelic users’ experiences of acute and post-psychedelic challenges in non-clinical contexts, to identify practice considerations for safer and more effective client work supporting the evolving role of counselling psychologists and practitioners in related fields. A comprehensive search across EBSCO databases and Google Scholar identified seven studies (n = 721) published between 2021 and 2025. Data extraction, quality appraisal, and meta-aggregative synthesis were conducted in accordance with JBI methodology. Four synthesised findings were identified: (1) complex experiences of distress; (2) diverse and individualised coping strategies; (3) external support and challenges; and (4) internal adjustment and ambiguous outcomes. Findings indicate that experiences are varied, complex, and paradoxical; this highlights the value of pluralistic harm-reduction approaches that acknowledge diversity of experience to ensure safer and more effective outcomes for those navigating post-psychedelic difficulties.

This study aims to analyze the learning problems experienced by Grade VIII students at UPTD SMPN 16 Kupang based on students’ experiences and teachers’ perspectives. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, using interviews with 16 informants consisting of one homeroom teacher, three subject teachers, and 12 Grade VIII students. The data were analyzed thematically by grouping responses into recurring patterns relevant to the research focus. The findings derived from the available informant accounts revealed several issues, namely students’ limited openness in communicating their difficulties, inconsistent classroom participation, procrastination in completing assignments, and family responsibilities that reduce the time and energy available for learning. Some students reported being distracted by recreational activities, while others experienced fatigue after helping their parents at home. These findings indicate that learning problems need to be understood by considering academic factors, study habits, communication, and family context. Guidance and counseling services can support the identification of students’ needs and the development of effective learning strategies and time management skills.
Counselling researchers have spent decades arguing about why counselling works. One philosophical camp locates the active ingredient in specific techniques tied to specific disorders. The other locates it in factors common to all bona fide therapies, chiefly the relationship between counsellor and client. This article develops a process-based perspective on the debate, examining how relational and technical elements are used within an unfolding therapeutic interaction. Drawing on the equivalence findings, the contemporary alliance literature, the unresolved question of causal mediation, the routine outcome monitoring evidence, and Australian decolonising scholarship, I propose a culturally situated responsive calibration model. The model reframes the therapist’s continuous, feedback-informed adjustment of relational and technical elements, made within the client’s cultural frame of wellbeing, as a proposed proximal mechanism of change. Calibration is not a new observation about good practice. Building on established responsiveness theory, the proposed contribution is to organise testable episodes of clinical judgement around feedback, action, and the client’s definition of wellbeing. Four testable propositions are advanced, including tests of whether calibration adds explanatory value beyond established process and treatment measures. Implications for practice, training, and measurement are outlined. The model is offered as a conceptual framework awaiting empirical testing, not as an established finding.
This reflective essay examines the establishment of the Research Guild in King’s Digital, a department at King’s College London specialising in online and blended postgraduate education. The Research Guild is an internally created, mentor-supported community of practice designed to help professional services staff engage more confidently in educational research and scholarship. Using an autoethnographic approach and a systems thinking lens, I explore how the Guild emerged in response to a recurring pattern: teams highly effective at delivery but lacking time, infrastructure and perceived legitimacy to undertake inquiry. The essay describes how mentoring through the ALT ELESIG Scholar Scheme, a training needs analysis survey and three structured development pathways (literature review, conference participation and research projects) combined to make evidence-seeking feel more normal, safe and worthwhile. I highlight key outcomes and persistent tensions around time, equity and sustainability, arguing that staff development is most transformative when treated as a deliberately designed ecosystem of scaffolds, feedback loops and shared identity rather than a series of isolated activities.
This study aims to develop an integrative conceptual model that connects student development management and Islamic Guidance and Counseling (Bimbingan dan Konseling Islam/BKI) within the framework of holistic student development in Islamic education. The study employs an integrative conceptual literature review to identify, examine, and synthesize relevant theoretical and conceptual perspectives. Literature was searched through Google Scholar, Garuda, and the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) during January–July 2026. From an initial 312 records, successive stages of duplicate removal, relevance screening, and full-text assessment resulted in a final corpus of 58 sources. The literature was analyzed through data extraction, initial coding, thematic categorization, cross-source comparison, and conceptual synthesis. The literature synthesis indicates conceptual convergence around the importance of integrating students’ spiritual, moral, psychological, and personal development within Islamic education. Based on this synthesis, the study proposes an integrative conceptual model comprising four interconnected components: fitrah as the philosophical and anthropological foundation of human potential; holistic Islamic education as the overarching developmental orientation; student development management as the institutional framework for planning, coordinating, and evaluating student development; and Islamic Guidance and Counseling as the professional support mechanism for identifying students’ needs and facilitating preventive, responsive, and developmental interventions. Functionally, fitrah establishes the foundational understanding of human potential, holistic Islamic education defines the developmental direction, student development management translates this orientation into coordinated institutional practices, and Islamic Guidance and Counseling provides individualized and group-based support within appropriate professional boundaries. These components operate as a mutually reinforcing framework for integrating educational planning, student support, and holistic development. The study concludes that this model offers a coherent conceptual basis for understanding student development in Islamic education, while its practical applicability and effectiveness require further empirical examination.
The present study examined the relationship between imposter phenomenon and career anxiety among final-year students in India. A quantitative correlational design was adopted with a sample of 36 final-year students (10 males, 26 females) selected through convenience sampling. Standardized measures included the Clance Imposter Phenomenon Scale and a self-constructed Career Anxiety Scale. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson?s correlation, and independent-samples t-tests. Results revealed a significant moderate positive correlation between imposter phenomenon and career anxiety (r = .45, p = .006). Female students reported slightly higher scores on both constructs, but gender differences were not statistically significant (p > .05). Findings suggest that imposter feelings contribute to career anxiety and may inform career counselling interventions in college settings.
