Game-based approaches are increasingly employed to address complex challenges in logistics and freight transport. While traditionally employed for education and workforce training, they have broader applications and untapped potential. In particular, advances in artificial intelligence (AI) are creating new opportunities to design, personalise, and scale these interventions. Despite this growing interest, a comprehensive understanding of how game-based approaches have evolved, who they target, what functions they serve, and where future opportunities lie remains limited. This study presents a systematic review of 87 studies on game-based interventions in freight transport and logistics, synthesising evidence across five application domains: warehouse operations management, terminal operations management, transport planning and optimisation, reverse logistics, and risk management and resilience. The findings reveal that games are evolving beyond training applications towards behavioural research, decision support, stakeholder engagement, and consumer behaviour change. Target audiences have similarly expanded from students and operational personnel to include managers, planners, consumers, and participants in behavioural research settings. Nevertheless, evidence regarding the long-term effectiveness of these interventions remains scarce, and several logistics challenges remain largely unexplored. Building on evidence-based gaps identified in the literature, this review proposes future research directions and highlights the potential of AI to enable adaptive, personalised, and scalable game-based interventions. By consolidating fragmented knowledge and outlining emerging opportunities, this study provides a foundation for researchers and practitioners seeking to harness game-based approaches to understand and improve logistics and freight transport systems.

رویکردهای مبتنی بر بازی به طور فزاینده‌ای برای مواجهه با چالش‌های پیچیده در لجستیک و حمل‌ونقل بار به کار گرفته می‌شوند. اگرچه این رویکردها به طور سنتی برای آموزش و تربیت نیروی کار مورد استفاده قرار می‌گرفتند، اما کاربردهای گسترده‌تر و ظرفیت‌های استفاده‌نشده‌ای دارند. به ویژه، پیشرفت‌های هوش مصنوعی (AI) فرصت‌های جدیدی برای طراحی، شخصی‌سازی و مقیاس‌پذیری این مداخلات ایجاد کرده است. با وجود این علاقه رو به رشد، درک جامعی از نحوه تحول رویکردهای مبتنی بر بازی، مخاطبان هدف، کارکردهای آن‌ها و فرصت‌های آینده همچنان محدود است. این مطالعه با ارائه یک مرور نظام‌مند از ۸۷ پژوهش درباره مداخلات مبتنی بر بازی در حوزه حمل‌ونقل بار و لجستیک، شواهد را در پنج حوزه کاربردی شامل مدیریت عملیات انبار، مدیریت عملیات ترمینال، برنامه‌ریزی و بهینه‌سازی حمل‌ونقل، لجستیک معکوس و مدیریت ریسک و تاب‌آوری، تلفیق می‌کند. یافته‌ها نشان می‌دهد که بازی‌ها فراتر از کاربردهای آموزشی، به سمت پژوهش‌های رفتاری، پشتیبانی تصمیم‌گیری، مشارکت ذینفعان و تغییر رفتار مصرف‌کننده در حال تحول هستند. مخاطبان هدف نیز از دانشجویان و کارکنان عملیاتی به مدیران، برنامه‌ریزان، مصرف‌کنندگان و شرکت‌کنندگان در محیط‌های پژوهش رفتاری گسترش یافته‌اند. با این حال، شواهد مربوط به اثربخشی بلندمدت این مداخلات همچنان اندک است و برخی چالش‌های لجستیکی تا حد زیادی بررسی نشده باقی مانده‌اند. با اتکا به شکاف‌های مبتنی بر شواهد شناسایی‌شده در ادبیات، این مرور جهت‌گیری‌های پژوهشی آینده را پیشنهاد می‌کند و بر پتانسیل هوش مصنوعی برای امکان‌پذیر ساختن مداخلات مبتنی بر بازی تطبیقی، شخصی‌سازی‌شده و مقیاس‌پذیر تأکید دارد. با یکپارچه‌سازی دانش پراکنده و ترسیم فرصت‌های نوظهور، این مطالعه بنیانی برای پژوهشگران و متخصصانی فراهم می‌کند که به دنبال بهره‌گیری از رویکردهای مبتنی بر بازی برای درک و بهبود سامانه‌های لجستیک و حمل‌ونقل بار هستند.
