Aim: This study aimed to explore women's self-reported paranormal experiences during the postpartum period, examine the cultural meanings attributed to these experiences, and descriptively assess levels of paranormal belief using the Paranormal Beliefs Scale (PBS).Methods: A convergent mixed-methods design was employed. Qualitative data were collected through face-toface, semi-structured interviews and analyzed using Braun and Clarke's thematic analysis. Quantitative data were collected using the PBS and analyzed using descriptive statistics. Forty-three postpartum women who reported paranormal or unusual visual experiences within the first 42 days after childbirth were recruited through snowball sampling. Results: Five themes emerged from the qualitative analysis: beliefs associated with the experiences, descriptions of perceived visual experiences, physical responses, psychological responses, and preventive practices. Participants commonly reported seeing black shadows, unfamiliar human-like figures, or animals, usually at night during transitions between wakefulness and sleep. Physical responses included immobility, palpitations, breathlessness, and sensations of suffocation, whereas psychological responses included fear, anxiety, sleep disturbance, and persistent distress. Participants also described religious, traditional, and medical coping practices. The mean PBS score was 27.6 ± 3.26.Conclusion: The findings suggest that women's interpretations of these experiences are shaped by cultural beliefs. Healthcare professionals should acknowledge such experiences without automatically attributing them to psychiatric pathology and provide culturally sensitive, evidence-based counselling to reduce fear and anxiety, discourage potentially harmful traditional practices, and promote maternal and infant wellbeing.

Aim: The aim of this study was to analyze the scientific literature on maternal health among immigrant women published between 2000 and 2025 using bibliometric methods and to identify global publication trends, the most productive authors, institutions, journals, and countries, international collaboration networks, and thematic developments. Methods: Data were obtained from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database on February 25, 2026, and analyzed using VOSviewer 1.6.20 software. Only research articles published in English were included. Co-authorship, coword, co-citation, bibliographic coupling, and citation analyses were performed. Results: A total of 1,965 publications were analyzed. Publications increased substantially after 2019, peaking in 2020 and 2024. The most productive countries were the USA, Australia, England, Canada, and Sweden. Publications were concentrated in Public Health, Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Nursing, with Obstetrics & Gynecology and Healthcare Policy as dominant thematic areas. The most productive institutions were Karolinska Institutet, University of Toronto, and University of California System. Leading journals included the Journal of Immigrant and Minority Health, BMC Pregnancy and Childbirth, and Midwifery. Conclusion: This bibliometric study maps research trends in maternal health among immigrant women. High-income Western countries dominate the field, while low- and middleincome country contributions remain limited. Strengthening international collaboration and increasing nursing-focused intervention research are recommended.

پربارترین مؤسسات شامل Karolinska Institutet، University of Toronto و University of California System بودند. Journal of Immigrant and Minority Health، BMC Pregnancy and Childbirth و Midwifery بودند.
