The present Indian education system is changing according to its way of teaching and learning. Before, our formal education system mainly focused on teacher-centered teaching, memorization, and examination results. At that time, students were listening to the teacher, memorizing that, and reproducing that in examinations. But, NEP 2020 specified their aims to transform this teacher-centered approach to learner-centered, meaningful learning, flexibility, and practical learning. It encourages students to actively participate in discussion, problem solving, practical skills, and real-life activities, and this policy gives special importance to creativity, critical thinking, and overall development of the students. Therefore, in 2020, the teacher-centered approach was transformed to the learner-centered approach of learning, where learners actively participate in the teaching-learning process and construct their own knowledge.

نظام آموزش کنونی هند مطابق با شیوه‌های تدریس و یادگیری خود در حال تغییر است. پیش از این، نظام آموزش رسمی ما عمدتاً بر تدریس معلم‌محور، حفظ‌کردن مطالب و نتایج امتحانات تمرکز داشت. در آن زمان، دانش‌آموزان به معلم گوش می‌دادند، مطالب را حفظ می‌کردند و آن‌ها را در امتحانات بازتولید می‌نمودند. اما سیاست ملی آموزش ۲۰۲۰ اهداف خود را بر تحول این رویکرد معلم‌محور به سمت یادگیری یادگیرنده‌محور، یادگیری معنادار، انعطاف‌پذیری و یادگیری عملی مشخص کرده است. این سیاست دانش‌آموزان را تشویق می‌کند تا به طور فعال در بحث، حل مسئله، مهارت‌های عملی و فعالیت‌های واقعی زندگی شرکت کنند و اهمیت ویژه‌ای برای خلاقیت، تفکر انتقادی و رشد همه‌جانبه دانش‌آموزان قائل است. بنابراین، در سال ۲۰۲۰ رویکرد معلم‌محور به رویکرد یادگیرنده‌محور در یادگیری تبدیل شد، جایی که یادگیرندگان به طور فعال در فرایند آموزش و یادگیری مشارکت می‌کنند و دانش خود را می‌سازند.
