In today’s dynamic service sectors, particularly aviation and tourism, innovation is a vital driver of performance. While leadership is known to foster innovation, the mechanisms by which leadership influences innovation outcomes through team learning remain underexplored. This study examines the impact of innovation leadership on team performance through team explorative learning, employee innovation, and team innovation, and further examines the moderating role of customer relationship management (CRM) practices in these relationships. Drawing on Social Exchange Theory and Social Learning Theory, innovation is conceptualized as a multi-level outcome shaped by leadership and team dynamics. Using Structural Equation Modelling on survey data from 430 employees and leaders in Vietnam’s aviation and tourism sector, the findings show that innovation leadership enhances team explorative learning, which in turn promotes employee and team innovation. These innovation outcomes subsequently enhance team performance, confirming their mediating roles in the relationship between team explorative learning and performance. Moreover, customer relationship management (CRM) practices moderate these relationships by strengthening the effect of team innovation on performance and attenuating the direct relationship between team explorative learning and team performance. In contrast, CRM practices had a limited moderating effect on the relationship between employee innovation and team performance. This study advances understanding of the indirect pathways through which leadership drives innovation and highlights CRM practices as a boundary condition. Practical implications for managing innovation in complex service environments are offered.
Peer feedback is a process where employees provide constructive input, based on their observations and interactions, with their colleagues. This feedback can encompass various aspects of an individual's performance, such as behavior, communication skills, and contributions to team dynamics. Peer feedback typically aims to offer valuable insights, promote personal growth, and enhance teamwork within an organization. It often involves both positive and constructive criticism, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. This approach helps employees gain a better understanding of their strengths and areas needing development, ultimately contributing to their professional development and the overall success of the organization. Peer feedback is an essential component of a 360-degree feedback system, offering a holistic view of an individual's performance.
Team dynamics in complex sociotechnical systems are critical for safety and organisational effectiveness. This systematic review aimed to evaluate the utility and applicability of systemic Human Factors and Ergonomics(HFE) approaches for analysing team dynamics. Four databases (PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, and ScienceDirect) were searched for peer-reviewed articles published in English between 2020 and September 2025. Studies were included if they applied systemic HFE methods to analyse team dynamics in organisational settings. Studies focusing solely on individual performance or lacking methodological detail were excluded. Two reviewers independently screened records and extracted data, and methodological quality was assessed using the Mixed Methods Appraisal Tool. Data were synthesised using thematic analysis. Seventy-seven studies were included, with healthcare being the most represented domain (n = 39). Most studies (51.9%) used adapted or combined approaches. Communication and coordination were the most frequently analysed dimensions of team dynamics. Established frameworks (e.g., SEIPS, FRAM) supported system-level analysis, while author-developed methods provided greater insight into local interactions. Hybrid approaches enabled integration across levels of analysis. Most studies were of high methodological quality (64.9%). These patterns informed a two-axis model positioning systemic HFE approaches by level of analysis and methodological integration, operationalised as a framework for method selection. Systemic HFE approaches are effective for analysing team dynamics in complex settings; however, no single method is universally optimal. Effectiveness depends on alignment between the analytical approach, context, and research objectives. Hybrid and adapted approaches appearing particularly promising. Further research is needed in underrepresented domains and through comparative methodological studies.
This study aimed to develop the Sports Destruction Scale (SDS) and examine itspsychometric properties among athletes. The study included 255 licensed athletes from different sport branches. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses were conducted to examine the factor structure, while internal consistency, composite reliability, convergent validity, and discriminant validity were evaluated. The analyses resulted in a 16-item structure comprising two dimensions: Interpersonal Destruction and Disruption of Team Dynamics. The two-factor structure explained 68% of the total variance. Confirmatory factor analysis indicated satisfactory model fit (χ²/df =2.09, CFI = .97, RMSEA = .058, SRMR=.045). Cronbach’s alpha coefficients were .92 for Interpersonal Destruction, .90 for Disruption of Team Dynamics, and .94 for the total scale. Composite reliability and averagevariance extracted values supported the reliability and convergent validity of thedimensions, while the HTMT ratio provided evidence of discriminant validity. These findings indicated that the SDS demonstrates satisfactory psychometric properties for assessing destructive behaviors in sport.
