This study aimed to assess musculoskeletal and ergonomic risk, identify demographic, occupational, lifestyle, and biomechanical characteristics associated with these outcomes, and develop and prioritize ergonomic intervention strategies for petrochemical control room operators. This cross-sectional study was conducted in 2025 among 210 male control room operators from an Iranian petrochemical complex using census sampling. Data were collected using the Demographic/Occupational Questionnaire, Persian International Physical Activity Questionnaire (P-IPAQ), Persian Örebro Musculoskeletal Pain Screening Questionnaire (P-ÖMSQ), and Persian Ergonomic Screening and Priority Tool (P-ESPT), complemented by objective postural and plantar pressure assessments. The P-ÖMSQ was used to classify participants according to P-ÖMSQ risk categories, with scores ≥ 90 categorized as moderate-to-high risk. Data were analyzed using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) software, version 20.0, with descriptive statistics, chi-square tests, and multivariable logistic regression. A P-ÖMSQ score within the moderate-to-high risk categories (≥ 90) was observed in 27% of participants, while 78% were classified as having moderate-to-high ergonomic risk. Multivariable logistic regression showed that older age (adjusted odds ratio [aOR] = 1.09, 95% confidence interval [CI] = 1.02–1.17, p = 0.014), higher body mass index (BMI) (aOR = 1.15, 95% CI = 1.04–1.27, p = 0.006), and longer job tenure (aOR = 1.98, 95% CI = 1.01–3.89, p = 0.047) were independently associated with higher odds of being classified in the moderate-to-high-risk P-ÖMSQ category. Lower physical activity was significantly associated with a higher prevalence of forward head posture, thoracic hyperkyphosis, lateral pelvic tilt, and pes planus ( p < 0.05). Objective biomechanical abnormalities were also significantly associated with higher P-ÖMSQ-based and P-ESPT-based risk categories ( p < 0.05). Based on the study findings, 20 ergonomic intervention strategies were proposed and prioritized through a stakeholder-informed participatory process. Older age, higher body mass index, and longer job tenure were associated with higher odds of being classified in the moderate-to-high-risk P-ÖMSQ category, while lower physical activity was associated with selected postural abnormalities among petrochemical control room operators. Several objective biomechanical abnormalities were also associated with P-ÖMSQ-based and P-ESPT-based risk categories. These findings may inform the prioritization of workplace ergonomic interventions; however, the proposed interventions were not evaluated in the present study, and their effectiveness should be assessed in future longitudinal and interventional studies.

Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) نسخه ۲۰.

The quality of postpartum recovery is a complex process. In this study, we aimed to translate and culturally adapt the Persian version of the ObsQoR-10 instrument and evaluate its psychometric properties in inpatient women 24 to 48 h after vaginal or elective cesarean delivery. This cross-sectional study translated and validated the Persian version of the Obstetric Quality of Recovery-10 (ObsQoR-10) in accordance with COSMIN guidelines. A total of 408 postpartum women were recruited from Taleghani Hospital in Tabriz, Iran, between 2024 and 2025. The ObsQoR-10 underwent a rigorous translation process (forward and backward translation, followed by cognitive interviews) and comprehensive psychometric evaluation. Content validity was examined using expert panels through CVI and CVR indices, while face validity was assessed via patient feedback. Structural validity was evaluated using exploratory factor analysis (EFA, n = 150) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA, n = 258), and construct validity was assessed through hypotheses testing (convergent and known-groups validity). Reliability was assessed through Cronbach’s α, McDonald’s ω, and intraclass correlation coefficients (ICC) to determine test-retest stability. The ObsQoR-10 demonstrated excellent content validity (scale-CVI = 0.95, CVR = 0.89) and strong face validity (mean impact score = 4.37/5). EFA identified a single factor accounting for 73.4% of the variance. CFA supported acceptable model fit (scaled χ²/df = 1.53, CFI = 0.990, TLI = 0.986, robust RMSEA = 0.052, SRMR = 0.021). Internal consistency was high (α = 0.964, ω = 0.956), and test-retest reliability was good (ICC = 0.86). The total score was calculated as the sum of all 10 item scores (range: 0-100), with higher scores indicating better recovery. ObsQoR-10 scores correlated significantly with the Questionnaire About the Childbirth Experience (QACE) ( r = − .63, p < .001). No floor or ceiling effects were observed (0%). The Persian version of the Obstetric Quality of Recovery-10 is a valid, reliable, and clinically practical patient-reported outcome measure for evaluating inpatient postpartum recovery among Persian-speaking women 24 to 48 h after vaginal or elective cesarean delivery.

Bita Erfanifar; Maud Modders; Karlijn Massar PLoS ONE, 2026, Vol. 21, Issue 9, pp. e0359411 https://doi.org/10.1371/journal.pone.0359411

Background Self-harm, including non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI), represents a major public health concern among adolescents. Although numerous risk and protective factors have been identified in the literature, their utility for assessment and management remains limited due to their large number and the variability in the strength of their associations. In Iran, in particular, there is a notable lack of synthesis, related to adolescent NSSI, especially regarding protective factors. To address this gap, this protocol outlines an ongoing systematic review aiming to provide a comprehensive overview of the recent (2015 onward) Persian and English peer-reviewed literature on NSSI and self-harm among adolescents in Iran, with a specific focus on studies investigating risk and protective factors. Methods & analysis The protocol is registered with PROSPERO (registration number CRD420261286909), and the systematic literature review, following PRISMA-P guidelines, will include Persian and English-language studies from 2015 onwards examining risk and protective factors for non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) in Iranian adolescents (10–19 years), as well as robustness of findings. Eligible studies include quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods designs, identified through PubMed, PsycINFO, Scopus, Embase, Google Scholar, SID, and Magiran. Data will be extracted using a standardized form, and study quality will be assessed with the Mixed Methods Assessment Tool (MMAT). Findings will be synthesized narratively, summarizing associations between risk or protective factors and NSSI, organized by clinically meaningful categories such as psychopathology, individual, family, peer, and demographic factors.
